All Vvolt batteries produced after 2/2024 meet the stringent UL 2271 standard for battery safety. 

Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is a globally recognized safety certification company. UL certifications indicate that a product has been tested and meets specific safety standards. Vvolt is proud to offer ebikes and batteries that meet their rigorous testing requirements. All of our second generation batteries meet the UL 2271 standard, and we're working on ensuring all of our bikes meet the UL 2849 standard.

UL 2271

UL 2271 is the standard for batteries for use in light electric vehicle (LEV) applications such as Vvolt ebikes. This certification focuses on rechargeable lithium-ion batteries and addresses their safety in various aspects, including:

- Battery Cell Safety: Ensures individual battery cells meet stringent safety standards.

- Battery Pack Safety: Covers the complete battery pack, including its assembly, casing, and overall safety.

- Performance Testing: Includes tests for battery performance under various conditions, such as overcharging, short-circuiting, and exposure to extreme temperatures.

- Durability: Assesses the battery's ability to withstand mechanical abuse, such as vibration and impact.
